Właśnie wylądowaliśmy / We have just landed

Byłem wczoraj na jednodniowym wypadzie u klienta i zauważyłem w samolocie bardzo ciekawy syndrom. Zaraz po wylądowaniu zdecydowana większość pasażerów włącza w pośpiechu swoje telefony komórkowe, dzwoni do kogoś i wypowiada owo magiczne zdanie.

Zacząłem się zastanawiać czemu tak się dzieje i doszedłem do wniosku, że wytłumaczenia są dwa. Pierwszym jest chyba strach przed tym, że samolot może nie wylądować z tego samego powodu z którego nie wylądowały dwa samoloty pięć lat temu. Ale bardziej prawdopodobne wydaje mi się totalne zagubienie spowodowane brakiem możliwości mielenia jęzorem przez telefon przez kolejną godzinę lotu i ta rozdzierająca cisza nakazująca udawać, że się śpi, albo schować się przed otoczeniem za jakimś ipodem, albo innym psp.

Yesterday I flew to the client premises and I noted an interesting thing on the plane. As soon as the plane lands, most of the passengers turn on their cells, call someone and say this magic phrase.

I was wondering why they all do this and I concluded that there might be two explanations. One is the fear that the plane might not land at all, just like two other planes did not land five year ago. But more likely they feel totally lost due to lack of ability to talk constantly for an hour or two, and due to unconfortable silence that force them to pretend they sleep or to hide behind their ipods or psps.
