Cedar Point Amusement Park

Jednym z przystanków w drodze z Chicago do DC był park rozrywki Cedar Point w Sandusky, OH. A w zasadzie jeden roller coaster: Top Thrill Dragster. 420 stóp (ok. 128 metrów) i 120MPH (193km/h).

A potem trzeba doprowadzić do porządq włosy (czapki i okulary przeciwsłoneczne lądują w kieszeni przed startem). A ja zdejmowałem z podkoszulka zwłoki muszek :-).

Przyspieszenie do 120MPH w 4 sekundy.

One of our stops on the way from Chicago to DC was Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH. To be more precise it was because just one roller coaster: Top Thrill Dragster. 420 feet and 120MPH. I have no idea how is the height measured, as it doesn't seem to me that it is 420 feet high. However, it doesn't matter as the ride on this monster is an ass kicking experience. I convinced (or rather almost forced :-) Słoń to sit in a first row.

It was definately worth it. The whole ride takes 15-20 seconds. And then you have to fix your hair (hats and sunglasses are kept in the pockets for a ride). Women also have to fix their breasts, as they also fly during the ride :-). In my case I had to get rid of some small dead flies on my t-shirt :-).

Contrary to traditional roller coaster, where cars are drag up to the first elevation, this one is launched hydraulically. The acceleration is about 120MPH in 4 seconds. This means about 1.3G, as far as I remember physics classes (120MPH = ~190km/h = ~52m/s in 4s equals to 13m/s2). It isn't a combat jet, but still the highest acceleration I have experienced so far. It pushed me in the seat so much, that I could breath just after launch. Generally the whole ride is one big scream: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! And there is a VERY short panoramic view on the top, including the Erie Lake view.

Because very limited time resources we were able to take only one more ride on other coaster: Millenium Force (300 feet and 93MPH). However, the most amazing coasters in Cedar Point were 3 of them riding on the wood construction. I believe it must be really exciting ride when you realize you ride on the wood. Especially including all vibrations and noise.

Leaving MF we saw a girl who was taken out by medical aid group. I was wondering whether it was because of sun and heat or because of too much adrenaline.

I thought I would be able to make a short movie on TTD, but it was a fear that won with my curiosity and I kept grabing the handle-bars. I rose my hands after we rode down.

We took some pictures outside, but so far they are unaccesibile.
