Żegnaj kolejna wolności / Good bye yet another Freedom

Zalety? Zero. Złodzieje i tak opracują metodę, żeby wyjąć moduł i zostawić go w miejscu skradzionego samochodu. Wady? W kraju, gdzie większość ma w d... nierealne ograniczenia prędkości (wczoraj wracałem z OBX, więc wiem) mandaty będą przychodzić pocztą. Policja nie będzie musiała nawet palcem ruszyć. Wracamy do epoki konnej bryczki. We have been recently informed that our insurance company is going to drop us. Well, maybe not. We just received another offer: they will put us on leash. The leash is called IntelliDrive and it is supposed to help controlling our driving habits among others. The way it works is simple: current car location is sent via cellular network to the website. Advantages? None. Car thieves will find the way to remove the box and leave it in the place of stolen car. Disadvantages? In the country where majority do not obey unreal speed limits (I was coming back from OBX last night) the speeding tickets will be mailed. The road police will become obsolete. We are coming back to horse carriage age. In addition, somebody has to pay to cellular operators for those 150 millions of vehicles sending texts every minute or so. Guess who?... Not to mention the increase in the interpersonal trust when boss will be controlling his drivers, husband will be controlling his wife and wife will be controlling their teenage kids... I wonder when they come with with an idea of implanting similar miniature module to newborns. Orwell would be proud.
